Our Why

Hunger is especially devastating for children because it deprives them of more than just food. On empty stomachs, they do not have the energy to focus, engage, learn and grow. Good nutrition is important for establishing a strong foundation that has lifelong implications for a child’s future physical and mental health, academic achievement and economic productivity.

SINCE 2011, NEARLY

51M

meals have been distributed to children and families in need.

The Need

65%

According to Collier County Public Schools in 2022, 65% of school children receive free or reduced-price meals. In Collier County, all children are eligible for free breakfast, and those who qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch often rely on these school-provided meals for the majority of their daily nutrition.
